Sammie’s Tail Part 32
Well both cats are overweight and on special diet vet food. It has more fiber and is supposed to make them feel full sooner. So far they both lost ½ pound, then went back up a bit and then back down again.
I try to feed them once in the morning with their medicine, pumpkin and probiotic, and then in the evening, but they manage a snack at around 1 p.m. Today I took Bettinna to get her nails trimmed and ears cleaned. Sammie is now sleeping on the bed on the floor near a bed where she can go hide if I come and get her.
Sammie is treated with Lysine to help treat her partial blind herpes virus eye. Bettinna is on prednisone for her asthma and just this month is the first time we have not seen an asthma attack. She gets blood work next week to make sure her liver is good and that she is fine.
I feel a big responsibility to make sure they have healthy happy lives. We have pet insurance and it is worth it. I feel that if I am going to be responsible and care for them, then they deserve the same care we as people provide ourselves. They are my kids after all. I love them so much.
Bettinna picks her toys out of her toy bin and drags them through the house to my office many times. I feel so bad when I am working and I have to ignore them as I know she needs exercise. Sammie has been abused in the past and does not like a hand put in front of her, or sticks from cat toys. Therefore, I leave mice all over the place where Sammie walks and she jumps around and runs and is so happy. Especially since we removed her gingivitis infected teeth with her sore gums.
